Tajikistan is currently evaluating the feasibility of establishing a new logistics hub at the Dusti border crossing in Tursunzade. Minister of Transport Azim Ibrohim met with representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to discuss the project's preliminary technical and economic requirements. The initiative involves collaboration with international firms ETECON and Ecoline International to assess the legal, technical, and financial frameworks necessary for development. This initial phase serves as a foundation for determining the project's viability before moving toward full-scale implementation. Beyond this specific hub, officials also reviewed ongoing state-funded transportation infrastructure projects and explored future avenues for cooperation between the Tajik government and the EBRD.
The development of a logistics center at a key border crossing could significantly enhance Tajikistan's regional trade efficiency and strengthen its transport infrastructure through international investment.
