小学校で「人類の出現から旧石器時代」の学習を必修に 3学会が要望
Three academic organizations specializing in history and archaeology have formally requested that the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology incorporate the study of human origins and the Paleolithic era into the mandatory elementary school curriculum. Currently, historical education in primary schools typically begins with the Jomon period, leaving a significant gap regarding earlier human development. The groups argue that understanding the dawn of humanity is essential for fostering a broader historical perspective among children. By introducing these concepts at a younger age, they believe students will better grasp the long-term evolution of society and technology. The proposal aims to bridge the current educational divide and ensure that foundational knowledge about ancient human history is established early in the academic journey.
This proposal seeks to fundamentally shift the starting point of historical education in Japan to provide students with a more comprehensive understanding of human origins.
