A local court in Patna on Tuesday (June 9, 2026) stayed the arrest of popular educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, also known as “Khan Sir”, in connection with a firing that happened at his coaching institute on the night of June 2.
Earlier, Mr. Khan’s lawyer Arwind Kumar Mahuar had filed an anticipatory bail petition at Patna District court. Since then, Mr Khan is said to have been untraceable .
“Relevant facts have been presented before the Judge who provided the legal relief to the petitioner,” Mr. Mahuar told media persons while asserting that his client [Mr. Khan] “has no direct involvement in the incident”.
“The case stems from a violent confrontation that the police say was linked to a rivalry between Khan Global Studies (KGS) and another coaching Institute,” he added further.
While hearing the case on Tuesday (June 9, 2026), the court clarified that “investigators are free to question Mr. Khan in connection with the case but no coercive or punitive action, including arrest can be taken against him while the interim protection remains in force”. The court has fixed Friday (June 12, 2026) as next date of hearing in the case.
The court also directed Patna police to produce the case diary and evidence of the incident in the case. The FIR in the case was lodged against Mr. Khan at Kadamkuan police station of Patna on June 4.
The court also rejected the bail plea of Raushan Anand, the rival coaching institute owner and teacher who was earlier arrested in the case along with two others — Abhishek Kumar and Gaurav Kumar — on the night of June 2 itself, after Mr. Khan had alleged that they may have orchestrated the attack on his coaching institute.
Mr. Anand is director of the famed Gyan Bindu coaching institute of Patna where thousands of students receive coaching for government job entrance exams.
