This strategy aims to foster economic transformation, bolster national resilience, and improve living standards for the Tajik population. Key to this plan is promoting growth driven by private sector development and the creation of more high-quality employment opportunities. The initiative will focus on three interconnected areas: enhancing access to clean and reliable energy, including support for the Rogun hydropower project; developing a healthier and more skilled workforce through investments in education and healthcare; and attracting private investment to stimulate job creation and economic diversification. The strategy also emphasizes building resilience against economic shocks, climate change, and natural disasters.
This new strategy is crucial for Tajikistan as it seeks to diversify its economy beyond remittances and build a more sustainable future, addressing vulnerabilities to external shocks and climate risks.
