Police in Savar have recovered the body of a young woman, identified as Riya Moni (21), from a flat in the Chhayabithi area. The discovery was made after her maternal uncle found the door locked from the outside and alerted authorities. Investigators suspect she was strangled to death following a domestic dispute. The primary suspect, Roni Chowdhury (22), a local student wing leader and Riya's husband, is currently missing. The couple had been married for about a year and a half and lived in a rented apartment.
