The United States has added Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD to its "entity list," which is often referred to as a "black list." Also included in the updated list are Chinese tech giants Alibaba and Baidu, identified as supporting China's military activities. This move by the Pentagon, which updates its list annually, comes shortly after recent high-level meetings aimed at easing US-China tensions. The updated roster now comprises 188 entities, a significant increase from the previous year.
This action complicates ongoing efforts to normalize relations between Washington and Beijing and could impact future defense contract eligibility for the listed Chinese companies.
