A leader of the Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has demanded the arrest of Sheikh Mahatab Ali, a former mayor of Faridpur municipality and a leader of the Awami League. The demand was made during a rally following a procession organized by the Jubo Dal to welcome the formation of its full central committee. The Jubo Dal leader alleged that individuals associated with the Awami League, who are banned from political activities, are active in Faridpur ahead of local government elections and questioned the administration's inaction. He further stated that Mahatab Ali, who faces corruption and money laundering charges, has no place in Faridpur while Jubo Dal members are alive.
