খাঁচাবন্দী মহিষ ‘ট্রাম্প’ কি শুকিয়ে গেছে
জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানার পরিচালক রফিকুল ইসলাম তালুকদার বলেন, মহিষটিকে খামারে লালন–পালন করা হয়েছিল কোরবানির জন্য। মানে অল্প সময়ে দ্রুত মোটা করে বিক্রি করা ছিল খামারির উদ্দেশ্য। খামারি বেশি করে দানাদার খাবার খাইয়ে মহিষের শরীরে প্রচুর ফ্যাট তৈরি করেছে। মহিষ যত মোটা হবে, তার তত স্বাস্থ্যঝুঁকি থাকবে। হঠাৎ মৃত্যুরও ঝুঁকি থাকবে। চিড়িয়াখানায় যেহেতু সংরক্ষণ করা হবে, সে কারণে মহিষটি যেন বেশি মোটাও না হয়, আবার চিকনও না হয়, এমন করে রাখতে হবে।
