Senior Congress leader C.S. ‘Appaji’ Nadagouda urged the party’s central leaders to accommodate him in the Karnataka Cabinet since he is the second-most-senior leader from north Karnataka among the ‘original Congressmen’. Mr. Nadagouda represents Muddebihal in Vijayapura district.
The Karnataka cabinet is expected to be expanded towards the end of June.
Karnataka: Former Ministers disappointed over not being included in Cabinet
“When North Karnataka quota is spoken about, I am the seniormost after H.K. Patil. I want to be in the cabinet. I am in the Congress party since 1983, and was first elected to the Assembly in 1989. Being a Lingayat, caste combination is in my favour. I had not spoken about till now. I am forced to talk because everything is working on caste combinations,” the MLA of Muddebihal told reporters in Bengaluru.
As of now, the MLA is serving as chairperson of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL).
