A video allegedly showing a sub-assistant engineer from Birampur Upazila in Dinajpur soliciting a bribe has gone viral on Facebook. The nearly 90-second clip depicts a conversation between the engineer, Hamidul Islam, and an individual representing a contractor regarding payment. Initially, the engineer reportedly demanded 10,000 Taka, but the conversation shifted to a lower amount, with the contractor's representative offering 1,000 Taka. The engineer is seen refusing the smaller sum and walking away, only for the contractor's representative to eventually place a bundle of cash into his pocket. The incident occurred during an inspection of a recently completed road construction project funded by ADB in the Sholahar village of Diyor Union.

The video raises concerns about corruption in public works projects and the integrity of government officials.
