The government has allocated 35,000 crore taka in the budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 to implement the recommendations of the new pay commission for public employees. Starting July 1st, government workers will receive 50% of their recommended basic salary. The remaining 50% of the basic salary will be disbursed in the following fiscal year. Full implementation, including allowances, is scheduled to be completed by the fiscal year 2028-29, according to information from the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance.
