As many as 200 youth from minority communities secured placements at a job mela which the Telangana Minorities Finance Corporation (TGMFC) organised in Hyderabad on Tuesday (June 9, 2026).
According to officials, more than 80 companies participated in the job mela and offered opportunities across sectors such as logistics, e-commerce, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, automotive services, construction, information technology, business process outsourcing, and healthcare. Nearly 2,000 youth from different parts of the State attended the event, they said.
Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprise Mohammed Azharuddin and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar inaugurated the event. Mr Azharuddin underscored that the State government has been working to increase employment opportunities for youth by means of recruitment drives and skill development initiatives. He said the objective was not merely to facilitate recruitment but also to ensure that selected candidates successfully joined their workplaces.
The Minister urged unemployed youth to make use of skill development and industry-oriented training programmes being conducted through TGMFC and said similar job melas would be organised in other parts of the State in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Mr. Prabhakar said the initiative was an important step towards creating employment opportunities for youth belonging to minority communities and expressed hope that similar programmes would be conducted on a larger scale in districts beyond Hyderabad.
