আলোর পাঠশালা'য় স্বপ্ন বুনছে শিশু ওমর ফারুক
টেকনাফের দমদমিয়া জেটি ঘাট বন্ধ থাকায় পর্যটন-সংকটে পড়া এক সাধারণ ব্যবসায়ীর সন্তান ওমর ফারুক এখন ‘দমদমিয়া আলোর পাঠশালা’র হাত ধরে নতুন করে স্বপ্ন দেখছে। সীমান্ত ও নদীমাতৃক এলাকার এই অদম্য শিশুটি সমস্ত প্রতিকূলতা পেরিয়ে পড়ালেখা শেষ করে ভবিষ্যতে এক বড় ব্যবসায়ী হওয়ার লক্ষ্য নিয়ে এগিয়ে চলেছে। ওমর ফারুক বর্তমানে প্রথম আলো ট্রাস্ট পরিচালিত দমদমিয়া আলোর পাঠশালার চতুর্থ শ্রেণির ছাত্র। সে উপজেলার দমদমিয়া অঞ্চলের বাসিন্দা আব্দুল রজকের পাঁচ সন্তানের মধ্যে চতুর্থ। স্থানীয় সূত্রে জানা গেছে,
Omar Farooq, a fourth-grade student at the 'Damdamiar Alor Pathshala' run by the First আলো Trust, is pursuing his dream of becoming a successful businessman. His father, Abdul Razzaq, a small hotel owner, faced severe financial hardship when the Damdamiya jetty, a key tourist spot, closed two years ago, halting his income. Previously reliant on tourism for his family's livelihood and his children's education, Razzaq now struggles to make ends meet by fishing. The free education provided by the Alor Pathshala has offered Omar a crucial opportunity to continue his studies amidst these challenges. His teacher notes his dedication and believes he has the potential to achieve his aspirations with support.
This story highlights how educational initiatives can provide a lifeline and foster hope for children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds facing unforeseen circumstances.
