বাংলাসহ ছয় বিষয়ে অনার্স বাতিলের কোনো আলোচনাই হয়নি: শিক্ষামন্ত্রী

Education Minister A. N. M. Ehsanul Haque Milan has stated that there has been no discussion about canceling undergraduate (Honors) degrees in six subjects, including Bengali, History, and Philosophy. Responding to media reports, the minister clarified that such a proposal has not been considered within his knowledge. He emphasized the importance of Bengali as the mother tongue and questioned the possibility of its exclusion. While acknowledging the focus on technical education, he reiterated that the discontinuation of subjects like Bengali, Philosophy, and History has not been discussed or initiated by the ministry. The National University has also issued a statement confirming no decision has been made by the government or the university authorities regarding the closure of any Honors courses.

This clarification is important as it addresses public concern and potential misinformation regarding the future of humanities and language-based undergraduate programs.
