পল্লবীতে শিশুকে ধর্ষণের পর হত্যা: উচ্চ আদালতে ‘ডেথ রেফারেন্স’ পাঠানোর নির্দেশ

A Dhaka court has ordered that the case file, including the death reference, for the brutal rape and murder of an eight-year-old child in Pallabi be sent to the High Court. The tribunal delivered this directive after completing the full verdict and death reference, totaling 72 pages, within just four working days. The accused, Sohail Rana and his wife Swapna Akter, were sentenced to death by the Dhaka Metropolitan Child Violence Prevention Tribunal. Sohail Rana was also fined 500,000 Taka and Swapna Akter 200,000 Taka. The child's dismembered body was found on May 19th, and the accused were arrested shortly after. They later confessed to the crime.

This action ensures judicial review of the death penalty, a critical step in the legal process for capital punishment cases.
