Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has presented an alternative national budget proposal for the fiscal year 2026-27, amounting to 8.39 trillion Taka. The proposed budget prioritizes public administration, interest payments on domestic and foreign loans, and the education and technology sectors. The budget, unveiled at an event in Dhaka, allocates 24.09% to public administration, followed by 15.19% for debt interest payments and 14.96% for education and technology. Other significant allocations include 7.78% for transport and communication, 6.15% for agriculture to ensure food security, and 5.74% for social security and welfare programs.
