Chittoor district police distributed helmets to representatives of media organisations on Monday (June 8, 2026), as part of awareness programmes on the usage of helmets by motorists.
The district police initiated several programmes as part of the “Safe Chittoor – Your Safety, Our Responsibility” campaign to prevent road accidents, raise awareness about helmet usage among two-wheeler riders, and foster a responsible attitude towards road safety regulations.
Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi along with Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jagan Mohan, CHUDA chairperson Katari Hemalatha, and other police officials, highlighted the media’s pivotal role in raising awareness about road safety.
Mr. Tushar Dudi flagged off a bike rally with 200 participants from Gandhi Junction in Chittoor city to Vijayam Engineering College. Police personnel, public representatives, students, representatives from voluntary organisations, and youth participated in the rally.
Following the rally, prize distribution ceremony for the “Helmet Pettu – Bahumati Pattu” (Wear a Helmet – Win a Prize) programme was held at the Vijayam Engineering College auditorium.
