A rowdy-sheeter from Bengaluru against whom an externment order was passed recently was found murdered in front of the district court building on the Hassan-Holenarasipur Road in Hassan city in the early hours of Monday (June 8).
Based on identity documents recovered from the crime scene, the police identified the deceased as Manjesh Kumar, 42, a resident of Anjanapura in Bengaluru and a native of Hassan. The documents included an undertrial prisoner card and other identification papers.
Hassan Superintendent of Police Shubhanwita told the media that Bengaluru South Deputy Commissioner of Police had issued an externment order confining Manjesh Kumar to Chikkamagaluru district. Kumar faced three murder cases registered in 2012, 2013, and 2020, along with multiple other serious charges, including attempt to murder.
The police officers on night patrol, acting on credible information, found the body, which had multiple wounds, around 2 a.m. It was shifted for a postmortem examination.
