BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao said that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy should explain what his government has achieved over the past two and a half years instead of questioning BJP leaders about their contribution to Telangana’s development.

Speaking to the media at Yadagirigutta in Bhongir district on Tuesday, Mr. Rao alleged that the Congress government had failed to bring in new investments. He said the Centre was ready to extend full cooperation for Hyderabad’s development — including expansion of Metro Rail — provided the State fulfilled its responsibilities.

For this, the government must take the lead in preparing Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and facilitating land acquisition, he noted and advised the Chief Minister to “change his language and political approach” and refrain from making personal remarks against BJP leaders.

Mr. Rao stated that the Chief Minister must prioritise implementation of the six guarantees promised to the people, and must clarify the status of assurances made in the Warangal, Khammam and Hyderabad Declarations. Failure to do so could trigger public unrest in rural areas.

He claimed there was a growing public perception that Telangana had become an “ATM” for the Congress, with concerns that public funds were being diverted for the party’s political needs rather than development. Reiterating his earlier allegations, Mr. Rao accused the State government of neglecting farmers while attempting to mislead the public by “hiding facts”.

The BJP chief said the Centre had undertaken large-scale grain procurement across the country, including Telangana, and termed the State’s allegations against it as baseless. It was the government’s responsibility to estimate crop yields, submit procurement requirements to the Centre, and ensure timely purchases. Blaming the Centre without fulfilling these duties amounts to a betrayal of the people, he said, demanding an explanation for why procurement had not reached even the projected levels.
