Safety improvements are set to begin on a stretch of the Rodovia José Fregonesi in Bonfim Paulista, Ribeirão Preto. The project, a collaboration between Arteris ViaPaulista, the Ribeirão Preto City Hall, and RP Mobi, will include the construction of sidewalks, installation of concrete barriers and guardrails, speed bumps, a crosswalk, and enhanced signage. These enhancements aim to improve pedestrian safety and regulate traffic flow in the area. The work is expected to take approximately two months to complete. The upgrades come five months after a tragic incident on January 1st, where a six-year-old boy was killed and his mother seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on the same road.
The road improvements are being implemented to prevent future tragedies and enhance the safety of pedestrians and drivers following a fatal accident.
