The EuroCup is set to undergo a significant transformation starting next season, expanding from 20 to 32 participating teams. These teams will be divided into four groups of eight, with the top 16 advancing to a knockout stage. All playoff series, including the finals, will adopt a best-of-three format to enhance competition and fan engagement. Club selection will be based on domestic league standings, and approximately 20 teams are expected to receive five-year participation licenses, aiming for greater stability.
This expansion and restructuring of the EuroCup aims to create a more competitive and stable platform for European basketball clubs, potentially increasing its appeal to sponsors and fans.
