Limburgse leerkrachten het langst en meest afwezig door ziekte in Vlaanderen, met Genk als uitschieter
Limburg blijft de Vlaamse koploper in ziekteverzuim bij onderwijspersoneel: nergens vallen leerkrachten vaker uit. Dat blijkt uit het jaarlijkse ziekteverzuimrapport van het Agentschap voor Onderwijsdiensten. Terwijl het Vlaamse gemiddelde in 2025 daalde naar 4,89 procent, bleef Limburg steken op 5,71 procent. Vooral in Genk en Hasselt zijn de cijfers alarmerend, met Genk zelfs als koploper van heel Vlaanderen.
