Altamira, Pará, is hosting the fifth edition of Chocolat Xingu, an event celebrating the region's renowned cacao and chocolate production. Running from Thursday, June 11th to Sunday, June 14th, the festival features a wide array of activities including exhibitions, tastings, and sales of cacao-based products like artisanal chocolate and cocoa butter. The event brings together producers, entrepreneurs, chefs, and the general public, with free entry requiring a non-perishable food donation for charity. Over 100 exhibitors are expected, showcasing the diverse offerings from Altamira and other municipalities across Pará.
The festival is crucial for boosting the regional economy by promoting sustainable Amazonian cacao, generating income, and positioning the Northern region as a global player in origin chocolate.
