Fires in Dali and Paleometocho under control
The fire brigade on Tuesday afternoon responded to two fires in the area of Dali and Paleometocho in the Nicosia district. “We responded and are operating with four staffed fire engines from the Nicosia fire stations,” said fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis. According to Kettis, the first fire broke out in bales of hay loaded onto a truck in a livestock area of Dali, while the second fire broke out on eight acres of dry grass and wild vegetation in the area between Paleom
Firefighters successfully extinguished two separate blazes in the Nicosia district on Tuesday. The first incident involved hay bales on a truck in a Dali livestock area. Shortly after, a second fire erupted, consuming dry grass and wild vegetation across approximately eight acres between Paleometocho and Kokkinotrimithia. Four fire engines from Nicosia stations were deployed to combat both incidents. Both fires are now under control.
The swift response and control of these fires prevented potential damage to livestock and surrounding vegetation.
