A case of disproportionate assets has been registered against Mohan Naik Jarupla, Engineer-in-Chief of the Roads and Buildings Department, Telangana government, for acquiring assets beyond his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service, officials said on Tuesday (June 9).

Following the registration of the case, officials from the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) carried out searches at his office, residence and 15 other locations linked to his relatives, associates and benamidars.

During the searches, officials identified several immovable and movable assets, including agricultural land parcels, residential flats, villas, a house under construction, cash advances towards property purchases, gold ornaments, household articles, electronic equipment and vehicles. Investigators said the value of the identified agricultural lands spread across 19.38 acres in Mullangi village of Dichpally mandal in Nizamabad district was estimated at approximately ₹82.89 lakh.

Officials further stated that seven flats were identified, including three at Kompally and four at Gachibowli, valued at around ₹7.34 crore, along with a triplex villa at Miyapur worth approximately ₹2.5 crore and a newly constructed house at Kukatpally valued at around ₹62 lakh. An advance payment of ₹1 crore was also made towards the purchase of a villa in Nizamabad.

ACB sources added that movable assets included gold ornaments weighing 2,500 gm valued at approximately ₹2 crore, 6,000 gm silver ornaments valued at approximately ₹3.6 lakh, along with household items worth ₹1.26 crore and electronics, including nine mobile phones, four laptops and two vehicles collectively valued at around over ₹25 lakh.
