The southwest monsoon that had been lashing the State for the past few days is likely to remain subdued in the coming days with the weakening of westerly winds. A yellow alert has been issued for five districts including Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Malappuram on Wednesday (June 10, 2026) where isolated heavy rain is likely. According to a weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday, an upper air cyclonic circulation lies over north Interior Karnataka and neighbourhoods between 4.5 & 5.8 km above mean sea level. Under the influence of the system, parts of Kerala will receive light spells of rain for the next four days.
