Skončila největší restituční kauza z posledních let týkající se Bečvářova statku, ve které stát přišel o majetek za stovky milionů korun. V kauze stát neprávem vydal řadu cenných pozemků v Praze. Prospěch z toho měli Tomáš Hrdlička nebo Roman Janoušek, podnikatelé známí jako takzvaní pražští kmotři. Těm neprávem vydané cenné pozemky zůstanou, trest je ale nečeká. The state unjustly restituted valuable land in Prague, which ultimately benefited businessmen like Tomáš Hrdlička and Roman Janoušek, known as the "Prague godfathers." Despite the improper restitution, these individuals will not face criminal charges for their gains.
However, the former director of the Prague Land Office, Eva Benešová, has been sentenced to five years in prison. According to journalists Ondřej Golis and Jana Neumannová, Benešová, while seemingly not profiting personally from the botched restitution, made significant errors in her official capacity as a civil servant.
This case highlights significant corruption and mismanagement within state restitution processes, leading to substantial financial losses for the public and the conviction of a key official.
