A recent analysis of Ukrainian media content reveals that individuals aged 60 and above are significantly underrepresented. Less than 40% of media materials feature this demographic, indicating a lack of visibility for a substantial portion of the population. Furthermore, the language used to describe older adults often carries discriminatory undertones.
This underrepresentation and use of discriminatory language can perpetuate ageism and negatively impact the social inclusion and perception of older citizens.
