Authorities claim the pilot, Geoffrey Wall, operated over 900 domestic and international flights between 2009 and 2025 as a captain, despite not holding the required license for large passenger aircraft. While he possessed a commercial pilot license, he was allegedly promoted to captain without the necessary airline transport pilot license, using falsified documents. Air Canada stated the pilot was removed from duty upon discovery and that passenger safety was not compromised due to regular training and checks.
This incident raises significant concerns about aviation safety oversight and the potential for fraudulent credentials within the airline industry.
