During Milan Design Week 2026, designer Sara Ricciardi unveiled a striking installation titled "Serotonin – The Chemistry of Happiness." This large-scale, colorful artwork aimed to explore the connection between beauty and joy by visually representing serotonin, a brain chemical associated with mood regulation. Visitors were invited to immerse themselves within monumental, bulbous forms that pulsed with light and sound, creating a sensory experience intended to evoke feelings of euphoria. The installation contrasted its vibrant, organic shapes with the classical architecture of the Brera Academy, where it was displayed.
The installation offers a unique artistic interpretation of a fundamental human emotion and its biological underpinnings, prompting reflection on the nature of happiness.
