A woman from Paraná has come forward claiming to be a victim of Amanda Maria Souza de Oliveira, 37, who was arrested in Santa Catarina for impersonating a 12-year-old girl. The Paraná resident developed a close bond with the suspect, who went by the alias 'Emily,' and even got a tattoo of the false name. The two met online in 2021 through a prayer group, where 'Emily' fabricated a story about being a terminally ill teenager seeking prayers for her death. The suspect allegedly manipulated victims for about ten months, fabricating tales of illness, abandonment, and loss, and even asked one victim to be her godmother and later her mother. The deception unraveled when the suspect began asking for money, leading victims to investigate and discover her true identity through a video call. The Paraná Civil Police have reopened investigations following the suspect's arrest in Santa Catarina.
