Belém is set to launch the Arrastões do Pavulagem 2026 festivities this Thursday, June 11th, with a vibrant opening program. The event will commence with a unique fluvial procession along the Guamá River and Guajará Bay, connecting the city's riverine heritage with its June festival traditions. This waterborne parade will feature around 300 participants from Arraial do Pavulagem, alongside Carimbó groups and representatives from Cachoeira do Arari, carrying the São João Menino masts adorned with ribbons.
This cultural event highlights the deep connection between Amazonian traditions, riverine life, and the popular June festivities, celebrating intangible cultural heritage.
