BYD has officially launched its first plug-in hybrid flex-fuel vehicle in Brazil, the Atto 2 DM-i. This new SUV will be assembled locally in Camaçari, Bahia, using the CKD system. It features a 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle engine paired with an electric motor, offering different power outputs depending on the battery configuration.
The Atto 2 DM-i will be available in two battery versions: GL with a 7.8 kWh battery and GS with an 18.3 kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 177 and 197 horsepower, respectively. The vehicle boasts a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of around 8.5 seconds and a total range exceeding 1,000 kilometers under European testing cycles.
This launch marks BYD's expansion into the Brazilian flex-fuel hybrid market, offering consumers a new eco-friendly and versatile vehicle option.
