Ringgit susut kepada RM4.06 sedolar, meningkat berbanding mata wang utama lain
KUALA LUMPUR: Ringgit dibuka lebih tinggi berbanding mata wang utama tetapi menyusut berbanding dolar AS hari ini berikutan sentimen pasaran yang kekal berhati-hati menjelang pengumuman data Indeks Harga Pengguna (IHP) Amerika Syarikat (AS) malam ini. Pada 8 pagi, mata wang tempatan susut kepada 4.0600/0640 berbanding dolar AS daripada 4.0580/0630 semasa ditutup pada Selasa. The Malaysian Ringgit opened higher against several major currencies but weakened against the US dollar, trading at RM4.06 to one dollar. This movement is attributed to cautious market sentiment ahead of the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data release. Analysts anticipate the US dollar will remain strong in the near term, supported by expectations of a potential 25 basis point interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. The Ringgit saw gains against the Japanese Yen, British Pound, and Euro, as well as the Singapore Dollar and Thai Baht. However, it experienced slight declines against the Indonesian Rupiah and remained unchanged against the Philippine Peso.
The fluctuation of the Ringgit against the US dollar and other major currencies is a key indicator of Malaysia's economic health and its integration into the global financial system.
