‘연체채권’ 세금 감면 받고도 계속 추심 관행, 9월부터 금지
Starting in September, financial institutions in South Korea will be prohibited from continuing debt collection practices on non-performing loans (NPLs) even after receiving tax benefits for them. This new regulation aims to prevent the dual practice of receiving tax relief while still aggressively pursuing debtors for outstanding amounts. The Financial Services Commission (FSC) announced the revised guidelines to ensure fairer treatment of individuals and businesses struggling with debt.
This change matters because it will offer greater protection to borrowers who have already benefited from tax reductions on their delinquent debts, preventing them from facing continued collection efforts.
