JOHOR BAHRU: Jabatan Imigresen Johor menumpaskan dua sindiket yang mengeksploitasi Pas Lawatan Kerja Sementara (PLKS) dengan membekalkan pekerja asing secara tidak sah di bandar raya ini baru-baru ini. Pengarah Imigresen Johor, Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus, berkata sindiket dikesan menggunakan syarikat yang mempunyai kuota pekerja asing namun tidak menggunakan pekerja terbabit untuk perniagaan yang didaftarkan. Johor Immigration Department officers have successfully dismantled two syndicates involved in the illegal trafficking of foreign workers in Johor Bahru. These groups exploited Temporary Employment Visit Passes (PLKS) by supplying foreign workers to employers who were not their registered beneficiaries. The syndicates allegedly profited significantly by reselling these workers to other companies.
During raids on June 4 and the following day, authorities apprehended several individuals, including a Bangladeshi man, and seized numerous passports, cash totaling RM9,300, and two vehicles. Initial investigations suggest these operations may have supplied up to 500 foreign workers statewide, with estimated monthly profits reaching RM225,000.
This operation highlights efforts to combat illegal labor practices and protect the rights of foreign workers, ensuring fair employment and preventing exploitation within the workforce.
