Στη δυτική Λιβύη μεταβαίνει σήμερα (10/6) η υφυπουργός Εξωτερικών Αλεξάνδρα Παπαδοπούλου για τον δεύτερο γύρο τεχνικών συνομιλιών μεταξύ Αθήνας και Τρίπολης για την οριοθέτηση θαλασσίων ζωνών μεταξύ των δύο χωρών. Η προσπάθεια για την οριοθέτηση ΑΟΖ με τη Λιβύη αποτελεί για την Ελλάδα προτεραιότητα, με τις δύο πλευρές να έχουν κηρύξει την εκκίνηση των σχετικών συνομιλιών στην Αθήνα των Σεπτέμβριο του 2025 από τον υπουργό Εξωτερικών Γιώργο Γεραπετρίτη και τον ασκούντα χρέη υπο
Greece's Deputy Foreign Minister, Alexandra Papadopoulou, is in western Libya to commence the second round of technical discussions aimed at delineating maritime zones with Tripoli. This initiative is a key priority for Greece, following the initial talks that began in Athens in September 2025. The current mission was solidified in April during a visit by Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to Libya, as part of Greece's broader diplomatic engagement with the country. Both nations have affirmed their readiness to proceed with delimitation talks based on the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.
These maritime boundary negotiations are crucial for Greece in the context of its ongoing geopolitical discussions with Turkey, particularly concerning energy exploration rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.
