Their research indicates that by the year 2030, the water consumption of AI data centers could reach a staggering level. This projected water usage is anticipated to be equivalent to the basic domestic needs of the entire population in sub-Saharan Africa, which numbers around 1.3 billion people.
This highlights a significant potential strain on global water resources driven by the rapid expansion of AI technology.
