Waimana Marine fined $24,000 for moving Bluff oysters from parasite-controlled area

Waimana Marine has been fined $24,000 for violating biosecurity regulations. The company pleaded guilty to 14 charges under the Biosecurity Act. These charges stem from the unauthorized movement of 80 tonnes of mussels and 6,700 oysters.

The seafood was transported out of an area designated for parasite control. The breaches occurred when the company moved these products from a controlled zone.
