A young man was fatally stabbed in Patiya, Chittagong, while another sustained injuries in the same incident. The attack occurred Tuesday night near Joulur Dighi's west bank when the victims encountered three individuals on the road, one of whom was wearing a burqa. When the victims attempted to identify them with a flashlight, they were attacked. Locals rescued the injured and took them to the hospital, where Pankaj Shil later died. Another injured individual, Tilak Chakraborty, is receiving treatment. Residents apprehended one suspect, identified as Abidul Islam, and subjected him to a mob beating before handing him over to the police. Police are investigating his involvement and continuing efforts to apprehend other perpetrators.
