Gaur that roamed 300 km across districts relocated to forest habitat

A guar, a species of wild cattle, has been successfully relocated to a forest habitat after traversing approximately 300 kilometers across multiple districts. The animal's journey began in the Tiruchi Forest Division and extended through Pudukottai and Tiruvarur before reaching the coastal region of Muthupettai. From there, it continued its extensive travel to Mandapam, passing through Mimisal, Thondi, and Ramanathapuram.

This relocation is significant as it highlights the challenges and successes in managing and conserving wild animal populations that undertake long-distance movements, potentially indicating habitat fragmentation or resource scarcity.
