The Zojila Tunnel, an ambitious infrastructure project in Ladakh, is nearing completion. This 13.15-kilometer tunnel is being constructed at an altitude of 11,578 feet with an estimated cost of ₹6,800 crore. Once operational, it promises to drastically reduce travel time between Ladakh and the plains.

Currently, the journey through the Zojila Pass takes approximately 1.5 hours. However, with the tunnel, this travel duration is expected to shrink to a mere 15 minutes, effectively ending Ladakh's winter isolation.

This tunnel will ensure all-weather connectivity to Ladakh, boosting tourism and economic activity throughout the year.
