The government is offering PhD fellowships and scholarships for the fiscal year 2026-27 to researchers enrolled in or admitted to PhD programs at public universities. These scholarships are being provided under the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust. Eligible candidates must have at least two first divisions in their academic careers, with a minimum GPA of 3.50 on a 5.00 scale or 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, and be no older than 45 years old at the time of application. The application process involves online submission followed by the physical submission of required documents, including academic certificates, mark sheets, proof of PhD admission, research proposals, and departmental approvals, to the trust's office by June 11.
This initiative aims to support and encourage advanced research in public universities, fostering academic development and innovation within the country.
