The average global temperature reached 15.81 degrees Celsius, significantly above the 1991-2020 average. Ocean surface temperatures remained near record highs, with the tropical Pacific showing strong warming trends. Western Europe experienced an unusually early and intense heatwave, with temperatures reaching between 35 and 40 degrees Celsius in some areas, breaking numerous May records. While parts of Europe faced drought, others experienced floods, and diverse weather patterns were observed across North America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Arctic and Antarctic sea ice extent also remained below average.

This data highlights the accelerating trend of extreme weather events and rising global temperatures, underscoring the urgency of addressing climate change.
