Iran has responded to U.S. airstrikes near the Strait of Hormuz by targeting American bases in the Persian Gulf region. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed responsibility for striking 21 targets in Bahrain and Jordan, with reports of aerial activity also emerging from Kuwait. These actions follow U.S. strikes on Iranian air defense systems, control stations, and radar sites, which Washington described as a proportionate response to Iran's downing of a U.S. military helicopter. Iran, however, condemned the U.S. actions as aggression and stated its strikes were an act of self-defense.

The escalating military actions between Iran and the U.S. in a strategically vital region complicate ongoing diplomatic efforts and increase the risk of wider regional conflict.
