Following criticism from the President of Tajikistan regarding a sharp increase in cement prices, authorities report that the cost of this essential building material has now decreased and supply shortages have been resolved. Recent checks on markets in Dushanbe and the Khatlon region indicate that a 50kg bag of cement, which previously reached up to 90 somoni, is now priced between 55 and 65 somoni. Sellers confirmed that the previous scarcity has ended, with ample supplies available from various manufacturers. The Antimonopoly Service also stated that market stabilization has been achieved after monitoring and discussions with businesses.
The stabilization of cement prices and availability is crucial for the ongoing construction season and the affordability of housing and infrastructure projects in Tajikistan.
