Three officials within an army corps are suspected of extorting money from their subordinates. Investigators allege that the officials falsely reported soldiers as performing combat or special tasks to secure additional financial bonuses for them. In return, the accused allegedly demanded a portion of these "combat" payments from the soldiers. The scheme reportedly began in December 2025, orchestrated by the logistics chief, who then involved two subordinates. One suspect was caught receiving payments totaling 274,000 UAH, with searches uncovering significant sums of cash and financial records.
This case highlights potential corruption within military structures, impacting troop morale and the integrity of financial compensation systems.
