Two eight-year-old boys drowned in a pond in Melandaha Upazila, Jamalpur, after going for a swim following a football match. The children, Al Nafi and Rifat Mia, were second-grade students at a local kindergarten. They had been playing football with other children in the afternoon and went to the nearby pond to bathe before sunset. When they did not return home, their families began searching for them. Around 11 PM, locals discovered their bodies floating in the pond and recovered them. The police were informed and visited the area, but the families have not filed any complaints. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
