KUALA LUMPUR: Stok minyak sawit Malaysia meningkat 5.15 peratus atau 118,891 tan kepada 2.42 juta tan pada Mei 2026 daripada 2.30 juta tan pada April 2026, menurut Lembaga Minyak Sawit Malaysia (MPOB). Dalam laporan prestasi industri bagi Mei, MPOB menjelaskan stok minyak sawit mentah (MSM) turut menokok 1.64 peratus atau 20,211 tan kepada 1.28 juta tan pada Mei 2026 daripada 1.26 juta tan pada bulan sebelumnya. This surge was driven by a significant jump in processed palm oil stocks, which climbed by 9.45%. Despite higher overall stocks, crude palm oil production experienced a 6.96% decline, with output of palm kernel and its related products also decreasing. Exports of palm oil and its derivatives generally fell, with palm oil exports down 14.45%, though biodiesel exports saw a modest increase.
The rise in palm oil stocks, coupled with decreased production and exports, could impact global palm oil prices and Malaysia's position as a key exporter.
