Comelec ready to build makeshift polling sites for BARMM, BSKE elections amid Mindanao earthquake

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced its preparedness to establish temporary polling stations in Mindanao. This contingency plan is in place for the upcoming Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary and Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (BSKE) elections. The decision comes in response to the recent earthquake that may have rendered traditional school-based polling sites unusable.

This ensures that voters in affected areas can still exercise their right to suffrage despite potential damage to polling infrastructure.
